Policies and Pricing

Appointment Policies
  • Arrival Time:
    Please arrive on time for your appointments. Late arrivals disrupt customers scheduled after you.

  • Late Arrivals:
    If you are going to be late, inform me as soon as possible.

    • Arrivals 15 minutes or more late will be canceled and you must reschedule.

  • No Call, No Show:
    No-call, no-show appointments will not be rescheduled.

  • Extra Items:
    When scheduling your appointment, please inform me if you are bringing additional items beyond what you initially called for.

Garment and Service Policies
  • Garment Condition:
    Please bring garments clean for alterations.

  • Garment Receipt:
    Keep the garment receipt provided until you have picked up your item(s).

  • Hanger Charge:
    There is a $2 charge for hangers provided for formal attire.

  • Rush Fees:
    Rush fees apply to garments that need to be returned within 4 days or less, based on the alterations required.

  • Due Dates:
    During your appointment, I will ask when you need your garment(s) returned.

    • Be specific: For example, “soon” typically means 1–2 weeks.

    • “No Rush”: Your garments will be added to the back of the queue.

    • Note: During busy seasons (prom, weddings, graduation), turnaround may take longer.

  • Payment Requirements:

    • Garments will not be released unless payment is made in full.

    • Custom orders require a 50% deposit upfront.

Pricing Information

Note: All prices are subject to change if work becomes more extensive than initially quoted.

If the price changes, I will notify you and explain options before proceeding.

Basic Price Guide

Service Price
Hems (Streetwear) $15 basic hems; $18+ for detailed/specialty hems
Take In / Let Out $18–$30
Lengthen / Shorten Sleeves $15–$30
Formal Hems $50 for first two layers; $10 each additional layer
Wedding Gown Hems $75 and up
Suit/Shirt Sleeves Adjustment $25
Suit Jacket Tailoring $18–$45
Zipper Replacement $18 and up
Basic Patching $5 for the first patch, $2 for each additional patch

Factors Affecting Pricing

  • Complexity:
    More intricate work (e.g., adjusting shoulders, removing pleats) will increase costs.

  • Garment Type:
    Jackets and coats may cost more to alter than shirts or pants due to their construction.

  • Rush Service:
    Needing your alterations done quickly will result in additional charges.

What to Expect When You Book an Appointment

Before Your Appointment

  • Please make sure the garment is clean and aired out, especially free of cigarette smoke.

  • For formal wear:

    • Bring the shoes you plan to wear with the garment (or something comparable).

    • Bring or wear any special undergarments that go with your attire.

    • These items are essential to ensure the best possible fit.


During Your Appointment

  • You will be asked to change into the garment(s) that need altering.

  • Once changed:

    • We will discuss the alterations I recommend.

    • I will also go over any specific areas you want to address.

    • Measuring and/or pinning will be done as needed.

    • We will discuss the cost for the alterations.


Custom Garments

  • A work order ticket will be created with:

    • The due date

    • The total cost

  • A deposit of 50% is required for all custom orders.

    • Work will not begin until the deposit is received.


Payment Process

  • Payment is not taken at the first fitting.

  • Final payment is due once the garment is fitted and the work is approved by you, the customer.


Final Touch

  • Steaming or pressing is included as a courtesy after alterations.
